Qmicro contributes to hydrogen quality research at GAS Analysis Symposium 2026

We’re pleased to share that our in-house GC experts have recently participated in GAS Analysis Symposium & Exhibition 2026 and published two papers in Volume 352 EPJ Web of Conferences journal. Through posters, presentations and publications, we have established a new, higher standard for hydrogen quality control across production and distribution industries.

Online monitoring of energy content and impurities in hydrogen using a micro gas chromatograph

In this study, it has been proven that the DynamiQ-X micro-GC is suitable for online monitoring of industrial-grade hydrogen. This application ensures:

  • High repeatability for all relevant impurities (including oxygen)

  • Accurate online determination of calorific value and Wobbe index

  • Low detection and quantification limits when using helium or hydrogen as the carrier

  • Compact and explosion-proof design for continuous field operation

Reducing helium dependency in gas chromatography for natural gas blends with hydrogen

In this study, it has been proven that you don’t need helium to remain within the limits of OIML R140 accuracy class A. This shows the versatility of DynamiQ-X, which enables:

  • Single carrier gas operation (hydrogen or argon) for online gas monitoring

  • Cheaper and more sustainable field measurements

  • No hardware changes when switching the carrier gas
